How to create a Mix 'n' Match vertical garden (Garden Up®)
Short on growing space or have a blank outdoor wall that needs prettying up? Creating your very own vertical garden is the way to go! Jack Mix 'n' Match Garden Up® products look great and are designed to make the job super easy.
What will you plant in your pots? Vibrant flowers, cute succulents, or perhaps herbs and other edibles you can use in the kitchen? Whatever you decide, vertical walls are an innovative solution – and will make you look like a green-thumbed pro!
Vertical gardens not only look gorgeous, but they’re also easier to maintain. Plus, they prevent pest and disease problems. Our planter pots come in various shapes and sizes, in charcoal or concrete grey, so you can customise away!

What you'll need
Once you’ve grabbed the products and materials for this project, plan out your pot layout on the ground using your mesh grid and planters.

- Spirit level
- Tape measure
- Pencil
- Drill & Panhead screws
- Premium potting mix
- Watering can
Your step-by-step guide
Mount your mesh
First, hold your mesh grid up to your chosen wall, check it’s straight using your level and mark the screw holes with a pencil. Then drill the screws into place – easy!
Use a blob of silicone to keep your mesh grid secured in place.
Time to plant
Pop the water-saving insert in the base of each Mix ‘n’ Match planter. Fill with premium quality potting mix – your plants will love it – then add your flowers or edibles. Put extra potting mix on top to keep your plant babies snug.
Finally, fill up a watering can with fertiliser and give them a good soak!
Fill your garden!
Match and add your Garden Up Hooks to your planter pots. Then start building your vertical garden based on your design. Or just play around and see what works!
Snap hooks on at the back of the pot and then slide in from both ends.
Now stand back and admire your beautiful living wall.
